Frequently Asked Questions
Weddings
If you're planning an outdoor ceremony, I always recommend having a wet-weather option just in case. I'll happily conduct your ceremony at either location and help make the transition as smooth and stress-free as possible.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
1
If you already have your date in mind, I recommend getting in touch as soon as possible. Popular weekends, particularly during the warmer months, can book well in advance. Even if your plans aren't finalised, I'm always happy to check my availability and answer your questions.
How far in advance should I book my ceremony?

Do you perform registry weddings?
3
Yes, I do. I am an approved Registry Marriage Celebrant appointed by the New Zealand Department of Internal Affairs, which means I can legally conduct official registry-style wedding ceremonies. These are ideal for couples wanting a simple, affordable and legally recognised ceremony.
Absolutely. Every couple is unique, and I believe your ceremony should reflect your personalities, values and relationship. I'll work closely with you to create a ceremony that feels genuine, meaningful and truly your own. You're welcome to include your own vows, readings, music and family traditions.
Can we personalise our wedding ceremony?
4
Of course. Writing your vows can feel a little daunting, but I'm here to help. Whether you'd like guidance, ideas or simply someone to review what you've written, I'm happy to support you every step of the way.
Can you help us write our vows?
5
Before your wedding, you'll need to apply for a Marriage Licence through the New Zealand Department of Internal Affairs. I'll happily guide you through the process and make sure everything is in place so your ceremony meets all the legal requirements.
What do we need to do before getting married?
6
Most personalised wedding ceremonies last around 20 to 30 minutes, while registry-style ceremonies are usually shorter. During our planning meeting, we'll decide together what feels right for you.
How long does a wedding ceremony usually take?
7
Yes. I warmly welcome couples of all backgrounds and identities, and I'm honoured to celebrate every love story with kindness, warmth and respect.
Do you perform same-sex marriages?
8
Funerals
Yes. It is a privilege to support families during such an important time. I'll take the time to listen to your stories, learn about your loved one and work with you to create a respectful and heartfelt ceremony that honours their life and legacy.
Can you help us plan a funeral or memorial service?
1
Absolutely. Every family is different, and I believe every farewell should reflect the wishes of those involved. Whether you would like a religious, spiritual or completely non-religious service, I'll create a ceremony that feels right for your family.
